Nostalgic Christmas 2025: The 40s & 50s

From 1941 to '59 to be exact. Many gems you don't hear at the mall, the radio, etc. Patti Page's "Jingle Bells" is the '51 version, and not the familiar '55 release. The difference is quite noticeable. The '51 version is a jazzy, swingin' orchestra standard, that sounds like it was recorded for a tv special, or maybe in film. It could also be an alternate take or simply the original. Les Brown's "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" is noted as '46 but other sources say otherwise. Regardless, both tracks are well worth a listen or three.

18 tracks in all including The Andrews Sisters, Owen Bradley and His Quintet, Frankie Laine, Peggy Lee, Margaret Whiting & Jimmy Wakely, Enoch Light and His Orchestra, The Beverley Sisters, Doris Day, and more. If I don't have another mix before the 25th... Be safe and have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
