Another volume to ease your discomforts of the day. P.SUS's "Fall in Love in Fall" is a big, BIG fav. Others include Lemon Jelly's "Ramblin' Man (Blurry version)," Afternoons in Stereo's "The Argonaut," Blue Wednesday's "#backyardbarbecue" and Kalabi's "What Are We Fighting For." 20 tracks in all. Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 18: Summers

And awesome it is. Soulwanderer's "Laughter" is a big, BIG fav. Blue Wednesday's "Birds Eye View," Future Loop Foundation's "Live at the Apollo," møndberg's "You Sparkled Like Silver," and Vanilla's "Remember" are a few others. AND, this mix includes one of my ultimate favorite songs of all time: Lemon Jelly's "Closer." It's usually in my top 5. Some days it's number one. Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 16: Moça Formos

Another excellent mix (aren't they all?). About the first track, DJ Yves' "Sailing (Michael Scott ext. mix)" - it's not the Chris Cross dude, although I've seen it tagged on various sites. I know amateur (& pro) remixers alter the vocals and such, but I did track down a possible name of the singer. But, it's the internet, so I didn't bother noting it and just kept the track tagged to the mixer (DJ Yves). On the original remix, the tune begins with the percussion. For this mix, I added the original tune's orchestra intro, the stretches, The Office quips, repeats, flanging, and all other effects (all of 26 seconds), then segued into the original remix. And, it's still a big fav.

Blue Wednesday's "Don't Let Go" is a big, BIG fav, along with Stuffed Tomato's "The Stone Skipper." Also, The Player Piano's "Sudden Left" and In Love with a Ghost's "Happy When You're Not Here" a couple more favs. Jack McDuff's soul-jazzed "Middle Class Folk Song" is another biggie. They're all good. Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 15: 'Tis the Christmas Season

It's a Downtime Christmas Special! I absolutely love this mix. What are my favorites? The biggest standouts are Vic's remix of "Winter Wonderland," nPc's lo-fi remix of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," and Monte La Rue's "I Saw Santa Kissing Mommy (A Time for Lovin')." The bass riff/runs in the latter are similar or possibly sampled from the replay background music in Pilotwings 64, the video game. Regardless, I absolutely, positively LOVE IT! Enough of the chit-chat... Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 14: Wish

What's going on here... more downtime!?! Why not! Big favs in Lemon Jelly's "Nice Weather for Ducks," Weathertunes' "The Sunny Side of Life," and Fila Brazillia's "XII." Also Breezewax's "Mother's Earth" and Nightmares on Wax's "You Wish." They're all good. Enjoy!

I didn't plan on making this a series, and yet here we are with volume 10. Big favs in Sleepless' "Ponder," Coldbrew's "Birds Out to Play," Ashra's "Mistral" and Emelie Christiansson's "Sunday Song." They're all good.  Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 7: ...Waiting

So many favorites including Lemon Jelly's "Oats," Five Seasons' "Colours" and Japancakes' lengthy yet awesome "Elephants." Also a few 70s laidback tracks including Focus' "Tropic Bird" and Monk Montgomery's "Reality." Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime: 3's a Charm

Another round of "Downtime." Big favs in Calibre's "Manchester Nights," The Society of Rockets' "Beachcomber," Lemon Jelly's "Pushy," and Keeno's "In Dreams." Enjoy!

Please note: Track 14 should be credited to The Sura Quintet, and not Don Gorda, although both are present in the track. I think I've also seen it credited as Don Gorda and The Sura Quintet.

Awesome Downtime: More Downtempo, Smooth D&B,... You Name It!

I listen to downtime (chillhop, lofi, downtempo, etc) almost daily. I find relaxing music in all kinds of genres, and not just something you'd only hear in a spa. I have nothing against the latter (I listen to it myself), but I want the comps to be more eclectic. As previously mentioned, I find relaxing music in many genres including certain drum and bass tracks (I label them as melodic or smooth dnb).

Big favs in this collection are Keeno's "Hold Ya," Weathertunes' "Passion," Empty Spools' "Always the Best Way to Learn," Fausto Trusso Sfrazzetto's "Nascere," and probably my top fav - Nine Inch Nails' "13 Ghosts II." Yes, that NIN band but no worries, it's not an industrial or noisy track. I first heard the track in one of my all-time favorite films, 2014's "The Raid 2" aka Serbuan maut 2: Berandal.

16 tracks in all. Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime! The One That Started It All

Awesome Downtime! Chillhop, Downtempo, Smooth D&B, Trip-Hop, Nu-Jazz, You Name It! The original title that ended up into a series.

If you're after relaxing music that doesn't drift off into boredomland, then look no further. Now, this isn't all ambient or Kenny G type of stuff. I find soothing music in just about all genres, even fast-tempo'd tunes. The majority of tracks in the series lean more to chillhop and downtempo. All in all, it's super good music. Particular favorites in this volume include Lurch's "All Yours," Nightmares on Wax "Fire in the Middle," Thunderball's "Golden," Brookes Brothers' "Desert Island" and Bcee's "Hold On." They're all good. Press play, sit back, relax, groove... and enjoy!
