A Baker's Dozen of Forgotten '70s Prog Rock Gems

The title is a bit of a misnomer. They are not necessarily 'forgotten' but simply a concise way in saying, "Great tunes from great albums but not as talked or played enough among the peers, radio, blah blah blah..."

Close to 80 minutes worth. Check out Sperrmüll's "No Freak Out," Quatermass' "Gemini," and Lady Lake's "Fading Trees," They're all good. Enjoy!

Get Out the Funk! 20 Down Home Gems

80 minutes worth! Most are from the 70s, with a couple or three 60s, one 90s, and commences with a remix. Now let me tell you about Big Jay Bush & The House Rockers' "Funky Horns," the last track - it blew my mind when first heard many years back. Unfortunately, it was a rough recording. Apparently, that rough recording is the actual recording. Regardless, it smokes ass. The tempo's so fast yet still funks & grooves. A big, BIG fav.

Lots of favs including The Rimshots' "Soultrain Part 1," Abraham and the Casanovas' "Kangaroo II," Harold Alexander's "Down Home" and Corduroy's "Long Cool & Bubbly" just to name a few. They're all good. Enjoy!

Popcorn Mania 3: Um Um Um!1959-67

Continuing on... the well known tracks. 20 tracks in all. Too many favs to list but if I had to name three, hmmm, Ernie K-Doe's "Mother-In-Law," Dion's "Ruby Baby," and Millie Small's "My Boy Lollipop." They're all good. Enjoy!

Awesome Downtime 14: Wish

What's going on here... more downtime!?! Why not! Big favs in Lemon Jelly's "Nice Weather for Ducks," Weathertunes' "The Sunny Side of Life," and Fila Brazillia's "XII." Also Breezewax's "Mother's Earth" and Nightmares on Wax's "You Wish." They're all good. Enjoy!

Twistin' & Grumblin' & Moanin' & Rumblin' - 20 Groovin' Dance Gems

The first half of the title was not inspired by noisy bodily functions. It's a title I've floated around for the longest time. While working away on the comp, I kept thinking back to an old memory from over 40 years ago, to partially base the comp's theme. She was beautiful, sexy, and absolutely fun to be with, albeit our relation was very short lived. One evening, we got together with a few friends and while listening to Alex Harvey Band's "Snake Bite," she got up and did this dance, similar to Selma Hayek's scenes in From Dusk to Dawn (a film released years later). Actually, she had a similar body to Selma's. Let that sink in your daydreaming minds, 😋. Her dance was so mesmerizing & engaging. Well anyway...

Lots of favs including Rodger Collins' "She's Looking Good." Also, The Herb Johnson Settlement's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," Sun Dragon's "Seventeen," Billy Davis' "Stanky (Get Funky)" and Small Faces' "What'Cha Gonna Do About It." All tunes from 1965 to '78. Enjoy!

btw, I included "Snake Bite" (the last track)

Popcorn Mania 2: Cha Cha Cha!1958-65

I worked on this comp shortly after the first one. As like the previous mix, this one should all be rare aka to the best of my knowledge. The Dooley Sisters, Danny Valentino, The McGuire Sisters, Titus Turner, Susan Rafey, Joanne Engel, Lenny Welch, Johnny & The Hurricanes, and many others. 20 tracks in all. Enjoy!

Note: Track 4 Baby Washington's "Hey Lonely" is sometimes listed as "Hey Lonely One." I prefer this order (precedence) when establishing track, artist, and album titles: back cover>front cover>spine>label
