Mostly 70s, a few 60s and 80s. The majority are a mix of (film) scores, ambience, etc., so don't expect any rockin', hoppin', havin'-a-good-ol'-time, dance tracks. You could either mix it up with other mixes, or play through for an eerie listen. Anyway, the usual names of the genre including Johnny Hawksworth, Syd Dale, Alan Hawkshaw, Brian Bennett, etc. Enjoy!

🪦 Many thanks! Good to have large selection of ambient/background music.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! That's the way I prefer it too - many styles, genres, etc.
DeleteThanks a lot George!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Scott!
DeleteHello George, Again this Halloween Collection grows larger. This Creepy Freaky Library Music will make a great addition for anyone who likes Halloween Music. Do you happen to have any of the Old 1920-1980 types of Big Bands and other types too of Halloween Music? ... The Upcoming Holidays with Christmas & New Years Eve Music is another great kind of types of songs & melodies. And especially those Great Big Bands of yesteryears gone by, there music was great to hear once again. Just think of all of the people that used to out to the Big Dance Halls and Clubs that would offer A Special Dinner & Dance Evening to celebrate these upcoming Holidays with dances & listening to those Bands back in the 1920's thru the 1980's were sure special times for those folks lucky enough to go out and see & hear those Big Bands and other popular Singers & even some local Bands too. Ever since The Covid-19 Virus things such as going out for a Special Holiday Diner & Dance with A Band or Singer at our Local Elks Club, Canadian Club, Moose Club, VFW or American Legion Club. Some Places have sadly stopped having these Events or a enter only if the people have had their Covid-19 Vaccine Shots, a few places said in their ads saying do not come to this event if you're Sick with a Cold, The FLU, or any Covid-19 Virus types of illness. Hopefully now with that Covid-19 Virus behind us all years ago, many of these Special Holiday Events will come back once again for a Great Meal with a Great Band or Singer for everyone there to enjoy once again. Sadly, some of the Restaurants and Clubs in America and in our State of Vermont have been destroyed by Flooding and Storms and have sadly stopped all of their Holiday and Special Events Gatherings with Meals with Bands, many great places are now just a distant memory. Hopefully what once was the past will come back again... I hope that you might have some of those Great Older Bands & Singers their Songs & Melodies from back in the days. They say that even if a D.J. plays just one special old song, this will have made its mark on someone that has a special memory of that song. Once Again, I Thank You. for all of those great songs & melodies that you have brought into my life and all of those others people's lives too. Keep up your Great Works. A Happy Halloween to you & your Family, Stan
ReplyDeleteHi Stan, I'm in my sixties and born/raised in small, rural towns. As a kid, visiting a city with only 20,000 habitants was like viewing a metropolis. Anyway, before I was born, my parents would go out to a small hall near the lake (a couple miles from the village) on Saturday evenings, late 40s, early 50s, and dance to a local big band. My dad also played in the band. Those stories are so romantic.
DeleteAs for your queries, I think you'll find a few here and there in the earlier mixes. I think in the Christmas mixes too. I don't have any specific older big band Halloween music (as in complete albums, comps, etc) but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks again for your kind words.
YouTube has a number of playlists featuring music from the 1920s on up including playlists from the 20s-40s, 40s-60s and just about any combo you want. Quality may not be the greatest but if you want something on in the background they'll pass muster just fine. The Internet Archive can also be a source for older material on 78s. Seek and ye shall find. (https://www.google.com/search?q=Halloween+compilations+1920s-1940s)
